Bigger and Better – 2023 Cycle for Smiles raises over R100 000
What an amazing group of cyclists we had participating in the 2023 Cycle for Smiles to raise funds for Operation Smile. Collectively, they raised almost R105 000 towards free, safe surgery for children born with cleft lip or palate – beating last year’s R80 000 record by an incredible 30%.
Cycling adventures overseas raise funds for Operation Smile
In 2022, Dan Meyer cycled 3500 kilometers through Europe, from Copenhagen to Rome to raise funds for Operation Smile. A year later, he cycled down the west coast of America from Canada to Mexico.
Richard Kohler’s epic south Atlantic ‘crossing’
Richard Kohler made history as the first person to cross the south Atlantic ocean solo and unsupported in his kayak, Osiyeza (The Crossing). In the process he raised over R600 000 to help children born with cleft through Operation Smile South Africa.
