Mission Possible

Help us create more smiles – by getting behind our volunteer medical team now

From 20-23 October 2022, our volunteer medical team will be in the Eastern Cape, working tirelessly to give new smiles to 30 children born with cleft lip or palate.

Some of these children, and their families, have been waiting for a long, long time for this opportunity. Because, during the Covid-19 pandemic our programme had to be put on hold. Right now, they are excitedly preparing to travel to the Nelson Mandela Academic Hospital for life-changing surgery.

Our dedicated doctors, nurses and other specialists are giving up their weekend, and offering all their skills and expertise free of charge to help these kids. But they need your help too.

You don’t need any experience or skills. In fact, you won’t even need to leave your home. All you need is a compassionate heart and the willingness to contribute towards life-changing surgery for someone born with a cleft lip or cleft palate.

Because, even though our volunteers perform the surgery free of charge, there are still costs involved.

Transport to get the surgical team and their equipment to the hospital … theatre and ward fees … and medical supplies such as drugs, scalpels, swabs, needles and sutures, IV packs, dressings, masks and scrubs.

Please will you play your part by making a donation of any amount towards these costs? Simply fill in the form to donate now. And you’ll be there in spirit with our team at the hospital … making sure they have everything they need to give all 30 kids their beautiful new smiles.

Thank you for caring about children who might otherwise not have access to safe surgery.
