Last year, friends like you gave baby Zander the most wonderful gift … a brand new smile
Now it’s time to do the same for more children born with cleft conditions … and parents who are almost too afraid to hope.

When she saw her son for the first time after the operation, Zander’s mom couldn’t hold back the tears of joy.
“I was completely overwhelmed,” she said. “Everything was better than we imagined, and we truly felt supported every step of the way.”
Remembering those incredibly moving moments inspires us to continue this life-changing work. And we hope they move you too.
Because, there are still too many children and adults waiting for cleft surgery. Waiting to eat without difficulty. To speak clearly. To smile without fear.
You can help them right now by making a donation of any amount towards our work.
From 25-28 July, Operation Smile’s team of volunteer medical specialists is returning to the Rob Ferreira Hospital in Mbombela to bring the same world class surgery – completely free of charge – to more children born with cleft conditions.
But of course, specialised cleft surgery isn’t ‘free’. We rely on so many wonderful, caring people to partner with us to cover the cost.
… Dedicated medical professionals, who give freely of their time and skills … Hospitals that open their doors to partner with us …
… And kind people like you, who donate towards essential medical supplies and equipment – scrubs, surgical gloves, scalpels, dressings, drips, meds and post-surgical care for the tiny patients – as well as transport and accommodation for volunteers and patients.
Your donation makes all the difference. Cleft lip surgery such as Zander received costs from as little as R5 500. Any amount you can contribute towards this will help change a child’s life and future forever.
Give today. One gift. One smile. A lifetime of impact.
