World Smile Day: 3 October 2025

In the lead up to World Smile Day, we’re teaming up with five of South Africa’s funniest comedians to settle one big question: whose smile shines the brightest — or makes YOU smile the most?

By casting your vote, you’ll automatically be entered to WIN a 2-night luxury Ocean Suite stay for two (valued at R10 000) at The President Hotel in Bantry Bay, Cape Town. Plus, the comedian who gets the most votes wins the same incredible prize!

But it’s more than just a competition — every vote helps us raise awareness (and more smiles) through Operation Smile South Africa, giving children born with cleft lips and palates the chance to smile with confidence.

Here’s how to join in:
1️⃣ Pick your favourite comedian.
2️⃣ Vote for the smile that brightens your day (NB: Only one vote per person).
3️⃣ Share with friends and family to boost your (and your comedian’s) chances!

Vote now and give someone a reason to smile!

Hurry! Competition closes midnight, Friday 3 October. Winners announced on Saturday 4 October 2025.

This poll has ended (since 1 month).
Angel Campey – stand-up comedian and radio host of The Joyride with Angel Campey on Smile FM.

What makes Angel smile: When I remember that we are back-to-back world champions! And sentimental things like my fiancee and growing plants. Also dark sense of humour and South African memes like Nhlanhla Nene's chair breaking or Marilze on her bicycle!
96
Kagiso KG Mokgadi – comedian.

What makes Kagiso smile: Small wins. Like SARS saying they owe me money. Crossing the finish line after a 10k race and clothes just fitting better even after a wash. I could go on.
35
Yaaseen Barnes – comedian and some other stuff.

What makes Yaaseen smile: Making other people smile. Jokes, the good ones and the bad ones. Hope (the feeling not the person)
35
Dalin Oliver – comedian

What makes Dalin smile: Seeing other people smile. It might sound cheesy, but it’s true — the more people are happy, the better the world is. That’s why I do what I do, because I love seeing people smile and laugh.
32
Céline Tshika – stand-up, sketch and musical comedian based in Cape Town

What makes Céline smile: staring at my to-do list and fully believing that this time, I will achieve the impossible. Also, my sisters, they're pretty cool.
